Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer worldwide, with around 17.7 million people in 2015, Representing 31% of the world’s total mortality, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

The Saudi Heart Association (SHA) has warned of an increase in the rate of cardiovascular diseases in the coming years

due to the spread of chronic diseases like diabetes and the adoption of wrong life-style habits.

SHA has also revealed that the number of cardiovascular procedures conducted in the Kingdom is less than half of the world average, which means that only 30% of all eligible patients are receiving proper treatment. In a quick-fix plan in response to these growing demands, the Saudi Ministry of Health has increased the number of cardiac centers by 46% in 2017, bringing the total to 19 cardiac centers nationwide.

This rapid increase in cardiovascular diseases rates has escalated the burden of the government health expenditures. To accommodate this burden, a goal has been set by the national transforming plan to double medical and pharmaceutical local industry by the year 2020. This increase should raise the share of medical industries in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from 0.98% to 1.97%. However, this ambitious plan is not an easy target to hit.

Notwithstanding these challenges, we at NABD have signed an agreement with an international medical industries company to transfer the technology of high-tech medical devices manufactory to Saudi Arabia.

Who we are?

NABD Medical Industries is a Saudi company established to work in transferring the advanced medical industrial technology to the Kingdom. Our company has two main branches of products:

We will start with manufacturing vessels dilatation catheters (coronary balloon catheters and peripheral balloon catheters) in the first branch. The next step in this line is to manufacture coronary artery stents used in cardiac catheterization procedures (bare metal and drug eluting stents). For the second branch, we will start by manufacturing hand sanitizers and multipurpose disinfectants. The next step is to produce medical disinfectants solutions such as iodine povidone.
